CLASS OF 2023

KENISHA BARRETT
Throughout her childhood education experience, English was once her weakest and least favorite subject. By high school, Kenisha’s interest in the subject took a turn. Her maturing ELA experiences and growing love for writing transformed her interests when she became exposed to a variety of literature that she believed to be thought-provoking, exciting to analyze, and relevant to understanding the world around us and human nature. From fiction prose to a variety of poetry to even books of the Bible, her list and learning continue to expand! In her junior year of college, Kenisha is an English literature honors major who is not only eager to further learn from her literary experiences and endeavors but to become a professor and writer.

BRIANNA SCHWARTZ
is working towards an English Literature Major at Lehman College with a minor in Secondary Education. She plans to pursue a Master's degree upon graduating in 2023. In addition to being a student, Brianna works part time as a writing tutor for Lehman College's Learning Center where she loves to read students’ papers and learn during the process. Some of her hobbies include writing, calligraphy, traveling, and taking naps when possible.

ALYSSA VELAZQUEZ

is an English major with a specialization in Literature and a minor in Middle School High School education. Approaching her final year as an undergraduate at Lehman, Alyssa looks forward to exploring what opportunities there are for graduate school. As she continues her educational career, she aims to have a few of her own works, creative and critical, published. Alyssa’s favorite childhood book series, Magic Tree House, is what ignited her passion for travel, her desire to learn new things, and her ability to stay curious.
