Welcome to students of the English Honors Program (EHP) at Lehman College! This is an online edition of our biannual Honors Newsletter. Congratulations Kenisha Barrett, Class of 2023, who has accepted a place in the Ph.D. program in English at the CUNY Graduate Center beginning Fall 2023. In addition to the regular fellowship she was awarded a Provost's Enhancement Fellowship.
Congratulations Rafiana Martinez, Class of 2022 who has been accepted into MFA programs at Columbia University and Sarah Lawrence College!
Congratulations to alumna Sonia Gonzalez, Class of 2021, who has accepted a place in the Phd Program in English at the CUNY Graduate Center beginning Fall 2022. In addition to the regular fellowship she was awarded a Provost's Enhancement Fellowship.
FACULTY Advisors
Dr. Melissa Castillo Planas serves as the Director of the EHP. In that capacity, she manages recruitment and entry for the Honors Program, advises students currently in the program and teaches the Honors Colloquium. Her office is Carman 387 where you will usually find her Tuesday's and Thursdays. She is also happy to zoom throughout the week to answer any questions or concerns.
Professor Castillo Planas is an Associate Professor of English specializing in Latinx Literature and Culture. She has advised numerous EHP thesis and is thrilled to be talking over the program from Professors Moy and Loscocco. She also teaches in the English PhD program at the CUNY graduate center.
